Welcome to Alexperience!

Exchange of culture and humanity

Hello, I'm Alex!

As a trained beer brewer and graduate master brewer, I pursued my hobby while working as a product developer and trained as an outdoor guide...

...After traveling a lot around the world with my wife Evgeniia, we decided to turn our passion into our profession and to give back the warmth that we were able to experience and to host people from all over the world....

..Our goal is to provide an unforgettable, authentic experience and to engage in exchange.
Because we are also interested in the history and culture of our guests!

An experience close to people and an exchange of culture - that is the Alexperience!

The house

IMG_7206.JPG

Our house (~1900 century) was community property for a long time until my grandfather bought the house for little money in the 70s and renovated it.

At that time, the village's milk collection point was located in the house for several years. After my grandparents died, the house stood empty for several years and suffered from renovation sins and the dampness of the mountain.

About four years ago, I took over a house that, according to the appraiser, should have been demolished.

Piece by piece, with the help of friends, I worked my way from top to bottom through the building to make it habitable again.

We have now created a place for meeting and exchange in a cozy, rustic atmosphere.

We have done a lot of new work, but some things are still in their original condition, just like in the 70s. There is always something to do, and it probably won't stop anytime soon :D

My Philosophy

Less is more

Diy > Ready made

Although our resources are limited, we live in a throwaway society on a dystopian scale. The pursuit of materialism is seen as bringing happiness. The standard of living is rising, but happiness is falling by the wayside. A lot of energy is wasted on living more efficiently, more, bigger, more stylish, cleaner. I believe that this pursuit is a massive mistake and actually has the opposite effect. I strive for a life that is slower, that appreciates small and old things. Many would dismiss the morning routine of stoking my wood stove as backwards. For me it means being closer to nature, understanding where my heat comes from and the effort involved. This leads to appreciation, which makes life more worth living.

Do it yourself follows from less is more. Even as a child, I enjoyed rescuing old jukeboxes from the bulky waste and repairing them. They may not have been the prettiest or best, but they had charm and I was proud to have created something with my own hands. I love breathing new life into things, be it furniture or clothing, or even my whole house. Things designed with love may not have the perfect right angle, but they have soul. Every wall that has been plastered with friends into the sunny evening hours has a story to tell and its organic, seemingly imperfect appearance makes it something special and unique.

Exchange / Networking

Authenticity

Unfortunately, people today are more connected virtually than in reality. Many people lack this real exchange. We want to impart knowledge and learn from others. We want to be with people and not just read about them. We explore the world and the world can visit us. So far we have been able to exchange ideas and make friends via the "Workaway" platform. Now we are trying to use this method to reach even more like-minded people all over the world.

For me, authenticity means following my heart. Even if this path seems more uncertain and adventurous, I am glad I took it. I have decided, contrary to my training, to pursue a job that truly fulfills me. I am passionate about inspiring people with things that move me personally. I want to be able to pass on the fire that burns within me. Authenticity naturally also plays a big role on our travels. We had the most impressive experience of a country while staying with simple families. And that is exactly what we offer. Nothing pretentious, nothing polished, no masks. Be part of our life in our house and in our culture and attitude to life!
